The social Liberal party is a political party under construction. I didn't know anything about it except for today when I saw this paid advertisement in ElAhram Newspaper . The party and its owner , Dr. Esmat El Mirghany, - A lawyer and the president of the Afro-Asian lawyers coalition for Human Rights- offered its consolation for Maspero martyrs families and the Egyptian people. The shocking part is that the party and its owner asked SCAF to apply marital laws as a solution for what happened infront of Maspiro!!
What really frustrated me was the following :
1. Do Dr. El Mirghany and her honorable party members understand that ending the emergency state was one of the ongoing demands of the revolution? and that by asking SCAF to implement these laws is like taking many steps backwards? Does Dr. El Mirghany know that she is stressing on the legitimacy of the SCAF by such demands?
2. Dr. El Mirghany talked about the " External hands" and " External funding" and she totally ignored thw whole truth about what happened infront of Maspiro and pictured the situation as if what happened was a sectarian fights between " intruders" and " christian" without any reference to the army's role in it. No wonder she's doing this while parliamentary elections are knocking on our doors!
3. Okay .. this is funny! Chairing a lawyers coalition for human rights and asking for marital laws? That is pathetic
Anyways, Dr. Esmat El Mirghany was infamous for being a member in the legislative committee of the NDP - a pure remnant of the former Regime!
Dr. Esmat El Mirghany was accused of using paid thugs to beat peaceful protesters who were protesting peacefully on the 25th of May 2005 - known as Black Friday- against the constitutional amendments and Mubarak's regime as per Kefaya's report
Dr.Esmat El Mirghany is the founder of Bint Masr Charity association for orphans . The orphanage was accussed of abusing and torturing a child in 2006 as per Elmasry Elyoum which was considered a big scandal back then.
